The tradition continues, and the spirit of the West rides strong! Harney County is proud to present the 101st Annual Harney County Fair and Rodeo, a celebration of heritage, heart, and pride in western values. From September 2nd to 6th, Burns, Oregon, will come alive with the sights, sounds, and energy of the frontier as the community gathers once again to honor its deep agricultural roots and cowboy culture.
This year’s theme, “Winning the West,” pays tribute to the grit, determination, and unity that define Harney County. Building on a century of memories, the 101st Fair brings together generations for a week of rodeo thrills, local showcases, and family fun. Whether you’re a long-time resident or a first-time visitor, this celebration promises something for everyone—and a chance to be part of a legacy that continues to shape the West.
Adding to the excitement, this year marks the debut of the new multi-use building, a major milestone for the fairgrounds. While the facility is still under construction, it already offers an incredible space where all 4-H and FFA projects can come together under one roof. This unified space reflects the community’s commitment to supporting youth programs and agricultural education, and it’s a glimpse into the future of the fair.

Celebrating Community Spirit – One Night at a Time
This year, the Harney County Fair and Rodeo is proud to introduce nightly themes that go beyond entertainment—they’re a way to bring our community together, celebrate our values, and showcase why Harney County is truly Winning the West. Each themed night invites fairgoers to dress their best, embrace the spirit of the evening, and take part in traditions that reflect the heart of our region:
- Family Night: Red, White & Blue (Thursday) – A tribute to patriotism and togetherness, where families come dressed in their favorite red, white, and blue to celebrate the roots that hold us strong.
- Tough Enough to Wear Pink (Friday) – A powerful show of support for breast cancer awareness, reminding us that strength and compassion go hand in hand.
- Gold Buckle Saturday – A night to honor rodeo excellence and western pride. Break out your finest boots, buckles, and hats as we celebrate the champions of our culture.
These themed nights aren’t just about what we wear—they’re about who we are. They create moments of unity, pride, and celebration that reflect the enduring spirit of Harney County. Together, we’re not just keeping tradition alive—we’re leading the way in Winning the West.
