Here in Central Oregon, 1 in 3 households – about 30,000 families – struggle daily just to make ends meet. Every day, our neighbors must make impossible choices. United Way of Central Oregon (UWCO) is hoping to make some of those choices easier. As we move through the year‑end holidays — a time when many families feel both the joy of the season and the strain of added expenses — United Way is calling on the community to come together and build resilience for local households through its United Way CARES Collection Drive. This new initiative invites residents across Central Oregon to donate essential items such as diapers, period, and incontinence products. These items help ensure dignity, health, and stability for families and individuals struggling to make ends meet.
“Even small acts of generosity make a real difference,” said Diana Fischetti, Regional Executive Director of United Way of Central Oregon. “When our community comes together to meet basic needs like diapers, period, and incontinence products, we’re doing more than supplying essentials — we’re strengthening stability and dignity for local families. United, we’re helping Central Oregonians move from surviving to thriving.”
The CARES Collection Drive is part of UWCO’s broader “Community Access to Resources and Essential Supplies” efforts and supports the organization’s mission to strengthen community resilience and address the most pressing challenges faced by local neighbors.
