The U.S. Navy’s elite F18 Growler Demonstration Team has officially confirmed it will perform at the 26th Annual Bright Wood Airshow of the Cascades, scheduled for August 28 and 29, 2026, at the Madras Municipal Airport.

Renowned for its precision, power, and jawdropping aerial maneuvers, the two-ship EA-18G Growler Demo Team showcases the Navy’s premier electronic attack aircraft. In 2026, the team will appear at only four airshows nationwide, placing the Bright Wood Airshow of the Cascades among an exceptionally small and elite group of aviation events selected to host the demonstration.

“The ability to secure an appearance by this Navy jet team has been in the works for over a year,” said Isaac Fisher, Board Member of the Airshow of the Cascades.

Adding to the prominence of the 2026 event, the Patriot Jet Team is also scheduled to perform with six jets, marking the first time in the history of the Madras airshow that two jet teams will headline the same show.

“It underscores the fact that the reputation of the airshow continues to climb nationally,” said Melanie Widmer, Board President.

With two elite jet teams set to fly over Central Oregon, along with the Erickson Aircraft Collection’s nationally recognized lineup of WWII warbirds, organizers anticipate record‑breaking attendance for the summer event.

Tickets are on sale now, with multiple options available. Organizers caution that many ticket packages are expected to sell out. Ticket prices remain the same as last year, and youth and veterans receive free admission. Sponsorship opportunities remain available and are essential to bringing worldclass aviation performances to Oregon. A special thank you goes to the Erickson Group, AB One, Daimler, City of Madras, Jefferson County and the Bean Foundation who make this event possible along with hundreds of volunteers.
